Ft. Bragg Famous for being the largest Army installation in the world, Ft. Bragg is home to several vital units for the military, such as, the Airborne and Special Operations Forces. The XVIII Airborne Corps, the 82nd Airborne Division, and the US Army Special Operations Command also have a huge impact on the fort. Additionally, the US ARMY Parachute Team, known as the Golden Knights, also uses Ft. Bragg as there home base. With the addition of Pope Air Force Base, both branches of the military are not only represented on Ft. Bragg, but are also an important partnership in tactical forces in carrying out missions. Economically, Ft. Bragg has a significant influence on the surrounding cities and county. Ft. Bragg accounts for an estimated $4.1 billion annually to the local cities, as well as, another $2 billion in retail sales. The base has a huge impact on the local economy and employment opportunities as well. With the constant flow of soldiers and their families on the base, many new jobs are created to accommodate the economic traffic as well as real estate property value. Ft.
